Internet not working, Unable to visit web pages, Microsoft edge displays error “Can’t connect securely to this page” after windows 10 1809 upgrade?  The error also occurs on browsers like Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc can’t connect to websites such as bing, google or even Gmail and Yahoo.  Well, Windows uses Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocols to securely communicate with Internet websites. If you’ve incorrectly configured TLS protocol settings, Microsoft browsers on your Windows 10 might not be able to display websites. That results:

Reset Internet Explorer settings

Enable TLS (Transport Layer Security) Protocols

The most common cause for this issue incorrect configuration of TLS protocols. These protocols are enabled by default on Windows. But if some third-party software or any user disabled these protocols, you might have this title trouble. Follow steps below to enable all TLS protocols (TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, TLS 1.2) that resolve this issue:

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Go to the Tools menu.
  3. Select Internet Options.
  4. Select the Advanced tab and scroll down to the Security section.
  5. Check to see if you have TLS 1.2 enabled (checked).  If not, check the box to enable it.
  6. Select OK.
  7. Close Internet Explorer
  8. Open edge browser again to verify the original concern has been resolved.

Enable TLS (Transport Layer Security) Protocols

  • Press Windows+ R and type inetcpl.cpl and ok, to open Internet Properties.
  • In the Internet Properties window, switch to the Security tab.
  • Select Internet and then click Custom level.
  • Then in Security Settings – Internet Zone, scroll down and find Display mixed content option.
  • Set it to Enable from Prompt.
  • Click OK, Apply, OK to save and close all windows.
  • Check the status of the issue now, it must be resolved by now.

Reset network configuration settings

Still having the problem, unable to visit web pages, try reset network configuration settings to the default setup.

Click start menu search, type cmd, right click on command prompt and select run as administrator. Then Perform command below one by one.

  • netsh winsock reset
  • netsh int IP reset
  • ipconfig /release
  • ipconfig /renew
  • ipconfig /flushdns

Close command prompt and restart windows, reopen edge browser check there is no more problem visit web pages.

Change DNS address

  • Press Windows + R, type ncpa.cpl and ok to open network connections window.
  • Right click on the active network connection, select properties
  • Double click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
  • select Use the following DNS server addresses:
  • Type in 8.8.8.8 for Preferred and 8.8.4.4 for Alternative.
  • Checkmark on Validate settings upon exit, then ok
  • Restart your browser and try again
