Create a user account Windows 10
Mostly Windows users never create secondary accounts on their machines They use their primary administrative account for everything. But This is not the secure way we have to avoid this habit. Creating a secondary Account for you and your family persons /kids is a great idea and this is a more secure way/to improve the security of your computer.
A standard local account is great for people who don’t want to link their login to Microsoft and it’s a perfect fit for kids who don’t need all the extras and might not even have an email address to link to the account in the first place.
Add local user account from settings
- First, press the Windows button on the keyboard or click on the Start button, then select Settings.
- Now Select Accounts > Family And Other users.
- Here Under Other user, select Add someone else to this PC.
- Now at the bottom of the page, select I don’t have this person’s sign-in information.
- Next at the bottom of the next page, select Add a user without a Microsoft account.

- On the next screen Enter a name for the new account.
- If you want this person to sign in with a password, enter and verify the password. And also add a password hint, then select Next that’s all click finish.
Set Up a Local User Account with Netplwiz
- Press Windows key + R, type netplwiz and click ok to open the User Accounts panel
- Here you will see list of user accounts created on your Windows 10 PC,
- Click on Add to initiate the process of adding a new user account on Windows 10.
- Look for the option “Sign in without a Microsoft account” at the bottom and click on it. This allows you to create a local account instead of a Microsoft account.
- Next, you will be prompted to select the account type. Click on “Local account” to proceed.
- Enter the necessary details for your new local account, including the username and password. You can also provide a password hint for added security.
- Once you’ve filled in the login details, click on the “Next” button to proceed with setting up the new local account.
Once done, you’ll have successfully created a new local user account.
Add a user account with Computer Management
- Rightclick on the start menu and select the computer management option
- Expand the Local Users and Groups option from the left pane, Right click on Uses, and choose New User from the context menu.
- Fill in your account login information and click on Create.
Command Prompt to add a user account
Type CMD in the Start menu search bar, and select Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator.
Now, type in the following line of code, replacing username and password in the command line to match your account requirements
net user username password /add
It will respond that “The command completed successfully,” it means that the account has been created.
Delete user account Windows 10
Again it’s simple and easy to Delete User Accounts in Windows 10 if you are no longer using a particular User Account.
You can delete a user account from Windows 10 settings:
- Press the Windows key + I to open the settings app
- Go to Account then Click or tap on “Family & other users,” on the left side of the window.
- Find the user account you intend to remove. Then, select it and click or tap on Remove.
- When it prompts for confirmation click “Delete account and data” and the user account is removed from your PC.
Also, you can remove an account from Windows 10 using the Control Panel:
- Open control palen, then user accounts,
- In the User Accounts section, click or tap on the “Remove user accounts” link.
Select the account you intend to delete, Here you can make changes to the user account or Click on “Delete the account” from the actions to remove it.
Another way to remove a user account on Windows 10 is access User accounts by running netplwiz command. Select the account you want to remove from the list and then click or tap on Remove.
You can also open computer management using compmgmt.msc, expand local users and groups. Select users, locate and right-click on the user account you want to remove. In the contextual menu that opens, click or tap Delete. To confirm your choice, click or tap on Yes in the pop-up.
Using the command prompt also you can remove the user account on Windows 10. Open the command prompt as administrator then run the command net user “username” /delete
