Windows 10 April 2018 update reaches 90% Devices worldwide – AdDuplex September 2018 report

And The propagation of the Windows 10 April Update continued this month of September 2018 where OS gained more than 3% New installations. According to AdDuplex September 2018, report the latest version of Windows 10 April 2018 update is now installed on 90% of PCs worldwide. What’s more important to know is that the report is based on a data collected from around 5,000 Microsoft Store apps running AdDuplex SDK v.2 (and higher).

With 90% market share, April 2018 update continue to grow up, and past feature updates continue to drop. According to AdDuplex’s numbers, the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is on the second position with market share of 5.7%. According to AdDuplex, Windows 10 CU (1703) is on 1.7% PCs and Windows 10 AU (1607) still powers 1.8% of the devices. Version 1511 has also seen a decline from 0.8% to 0.6% with the original version of Windows 10 remaining stagnant at 0.3%.

Next month Microsoft set to release Windows 10 October 2018 Update and users start upgrade to new version 1809. That means we’ll see a change in the mix next month and the market share of A18U will start dropping before it reaches 92%+

As Microsoft has started preparing for next feature update expected as Windows 10 October 2018 update version 1809 on upcoming Oct 2018. We would expect the percentage of the April 2018 Update to fall from the current 90% once the Redstone 5 update is rolled out to all Windows 10 users publicly. 

Note: the report is based on a data collected from around 5,000 Windows Store apps powered by AdDuplex’s SDK. For September, AdDuplex says that its data was collected throughout the day of September 25
