Windows 10 April 2018 update is now the fastest spreading update in the OSs lifetime – AdDuplex report

On 30/04/2018 Microsoft released its 5th major update As windows 10 April 2018 update version 1803 for free with a number of new features and Improvements on existing features. Now A good new comes to Microsoft and Windows 10 OS: Microsoft typically needs a few months to ship new Windows 10 updates to all devices, but it appears that the more and more users have manually upgraded their systems to the newest version of the operating system. As per AdDuplex report Windows 10 version 1803 has reached users at the fastest rate in the history of the Windows 10.

“With 50% market share in just one month 1803 (aka April 2018 Update) is the fastest spreading Windows 10 update by far. It took Fall Creators Update twice as long to cross the 50% line, and Creators Update was under 50% for about 3 months.”

Overall 50% users now using April 2018 update, And when come to Fall Creators Update, which is now sitting at a 43 percent share. Meanwhile, the Creators Update is at 2.9 percent and the Anniversary Update is sitting at 2.8 percent. Things go down from there, with Windows 10 version 1511 still maintaining a grasp at 0.7 percent, and version 1507 landing at 0.4 percent.

And PCs from Dell, MSI, and Microsoft have a higher share of PCs running Windows 10 V1803. Also, newer Microsoft Surface devices are getting updated more quickly than older ones.

Note: Actual figures likely differ, but AdDuplex’s monthly reports are handy for tracking trends. The results of the latest report were collected throughout the day of May 29.

The last two major updates came without any major bug and that is likely to be what might have prompted the users to install the latest update. But as far as this build is concerned, there is not much clarity about what could have led to the speedy distribution, especially when a slew of users reported their peeves with the update. While many users were unable to install – or even download – the update, others had to face the issue of disappearing desktops.

How Ever we think: It would be the result of Microsoft Windows 10 forcing users to updates their PC with Latest version. As AskWoody (via TechRadar) also points out that Microsoft could be forcing users to update their Windows 10 PCs to the latest update even if automatic updates are turned off on their machines. It noted reports from several users who were unable to defer updates, even when they had opted for semi-annual or annual updates only.
