How to connect wireless Display in windows 11 to TV

With the latest Windows 11, Microsoft introduced a number of new features and enhancements, including Wireless Display feature support connect to a wireless display in Windows 11. Enable Wireless Display Using Settings

To install the Wireless Display feature on Windows 11, check and ensure your PC is Miracast compatible.

How Can I Check if my PC supports Miracast? Open CMD and type “netsh WLAN show drivers” to check the status of Wireless Display Supported. If it says, ‘Yes’, then it means your PC supports Miracast.

If it is, follow these steps from the Settings panel to install Wireless Display as an optional feature.

  • Press the Windows key + I to open settings or you can press the Windows key + X and select settings,
  • Go to Apps then, scroll down and click on the Optional Features option

  • Click on View features, Next to add an optional Feature,

  • In the Add an optional feature dialog, type wireless display.
  • Select Wireless Display from the search result and click Next.

  • Click Install and wait for Windows to download and install the app.

  • It may take some time to download and install the feature.

Once done reboot your PC and Windows key + K to connect wireless display quickly.

Enable Wireless Display Using Command Prompt

Also, you can run the Features on Demand(FODs) command to enable or install Wireless Display on Windows 11.

  • Press Windows key + S and type cmd, right-click on the command prompt select run as administrator,
  • Now run the command DISM /Online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:App.WirelessDisplay.Connect~~~~0.0.1.0

  • This will download and install the Wireless Display app on Windows 11, it may take some time.
  • When you see a success message, close the Command Prompt window, and restart your PC.

Once installed, restart your PC. After the restart, open Windows Search (Win + S) and type Wireless Display to connect wireless display on Windows 11 to TV.

How to connect wireless display

Now to connect wireless display ensure the Device is connected to the same wifi network. For example, Connect your Android phone or TV and the Windows 11 PC to the same Wi-Fi network.

  • Press Windows key + I to open the settings app
  • Select system then click on Display
  • Expand Multiple displays under Scale & Layout and Click on Connect next to Connect to a wireless display.

Note – Ensure Windows 11 PC and the other device you are connecting to have both connected to the same Wi-Fi.

  • After a short time of scanning, the wireless display connection screen will be popped out in the lower right corner, and the available displays will be listed as well.
  • Select the right display and connect by clicking on it.
  • Choose OK on the display when the connection confirm window appears.

And then you can choose the display mode, Duplicate, Extend, or Second screen only.

If you want to disconnect the wireless display, click the monitor icon on the Taskbar, then click Disconnect.

To Mirror/Cast Your Android Display to a Windows 11

  • Press Windows key + S, type projection settings and select it

  • Under ‘Projecting to this PC’ settings, change ‘Always Off (Recommended)’ to ‘Available everywhere’ OR ‘Available everywhere on secure networks’ option.

  • And now click on the ‘Launch the Connect app to project to this PC’ link.

  • Here you will be able to connect your smartphone or TV to this display and it will appear in the Connect window.

Connect to wireless display not showing

If the “Connect wireless display” option is not showing on your Windows 11 PC,

  • Ensure your Windows 11 Device and the wireless display or TV, or smartphone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Next thing you need to check and make sure your wireless display device supports Miracast or a similar wireless display standard.
  • The wireless display feature is optional, and by default it’s not enabled on Windows 11. Ensure you have enabled the wireless display feature on Windows 11.
  • Disable any third-party firewall or antivirus software temporarily, as they may interfere with the wireless display feature.

Update Graphics driver

Sometimes outdated graphics drivers can be one of the reasons why the “Connect to a wireless display” option is not showing on your Windows 11 PC. And Updating your graphics drivers to the latest version can often resolve compatibility issues and enable the wireless display functionality.

  • Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager,
  • Expand the Display adapter, right-click on the installed Graphics driver select update driver,
  • Select the first option “search automatically for drivers” and follow on-screen instructions to get the updated driver from Windows update.
