Solved: Windows 10 version 1909 fails to install error 0x80d02002

Finally, Microsoft released feature Windows 10 version 1909, also known as the “Windows 10 November 2019 Update.” Like previous feature updates, this time company decided to limit the number of new features in the release and focus on making changes to the way it services, or updates, this particular release. Well, devices running Windows 10 version 1903 receive this feature update as optional update “enablement package KB4517245” and take few minutes to get November 2019 update installed. And older Windows 10 version 1809 or 1803 receives a traditional feature update in terms of size and amount of time required to install it.

If you are running Windows 10 version 1903 make sure KB4524570 (OS Build 18362.476) installed on your PC that prepares your device for version 1909.

Reset Windows Update Components

Run System File Checker

  • Open command prompt as administrator
  • Type command sfc /scannow and hit the enter key.
  • This will scan for corrupted missing system files if found any the utility will restore them from a special folder located on  %WinDir%\System32\dllcache.

  • Now open update & security then check for updates.

Perform Clean boot

Also, you can use the Windows 10 Update Assistant to get it now! Once downloaded, you can run it to begin the installation of the November 2019 update version 1909 update.

  • And start the download process after 10 seconds, assuming everything looks good.
  • After verifying the download, the assistant will start preparing the update process automatically.
