Installing the KB5053598 update bumps Windows 11 build number 26100.3476 and addresses various issues to enhance user experience and system stability. This update addresses security issues and makes miscellaneous security improvements to internal OS functionality.

After installing today’s update, you can see the battery percentage right on the Taskbar, and the battery icon has been updated. This update also makes Sharing files easier—when you right-click Notepad, you’ll see a “Share” button next to your recent files. Other fixes include fix a bug that caused images to display incorrect colors after resizing and another where custom mouse pointer colors would reset to white after a User Account Control (UAC) prompt. Drag-and-drop now works better when moving files or attachments across different apps and screens.

This update also adjusts Daylight Saving Time (DST) for Paraguay and fixes a problem where the OpenSSH service wouldn’t start unless manually run.

Microsoft has noted two known issues. Roblox isn’t working on Arm devices when downloaded from the Microsoft Store, and some devices with Citrix software may have trouble installing the January 2025 security update. Microsoft is working on fixes for both.
