Today’s update enables a few 24H2 features to Windows 11 version 23H2/22H2. Some of the highlights include the ability to share content to Android phones right from the Windows Share window. “To do this, you must pair your Android device to your Windows PC. Use the Link to Windows app on your Android device and Phone Link on your PC,” Microsoft says.

This update improves the responsiveness of scan mode, making it especially useful when using Microsoft Edge to read large documents. To activate scan mode, first turn on Narrator (Windows logo key + Ctrl + Enter), then enable scan mode by pressing Caps Lock + Spacebar during the Narrator session.

In addition, You can now dictate the characters that you spell at a faster speed. You also have more editing options for the commands that select, delete, and move within text.

Microsoft also rolling out an update to the Widgets Board to improve security and the APIs for creating widgets and feeds for users in EEA regions.

Today’s update also addresses several File Explorer issues.

  • Resolves issue where search doesn’t start with Ctrl + F.
  • Corrects keyboard focus loss when using Shift + Tab.

  • Enhances screen reader announcements for items in column headers.

In addition, Microsoft also includes quality improvements and several bug fixes. Key fixes include addressing a memory leak in the Input Method Editor (IME) when closing a window with a combo box in focus, updating COSA profiles for certain mobile operators, and resolving Bluetooth connectivity issues caused by specific policies.

Additionally, the update fixes a problem with the Bind Filter Driver that could cause the system to stop responding when accessing symbolic links. It also resolves a deadlock in the Unified Write Filter (UWF) that prevents devices from restarting during SCCM tasks.

Further improvements include fixing a hibernate stop error that caused laptops to become unresponsive after repeatedly closing and opening the lid. File Explorer now properly updates the navigation pane when browsing folders in a shell namespace extension.

The update also addresses excessive SSO prompts related to the European Digital Markets Act (DMA) when using certificates, resolves a PIN reset issue in Windows Hello for Business, and fixes a problem with BitLocker where data drives couldn’t be decrypted after moving them to an older Windows version.
